Leaders Field Guide
This guide is for leaders at all stages of their journey, offering tools and insights to help you reach your leadership potential.
Our experiences and teachings shape who we are. I’ve been fortunate to learn from remarkable individuals across my journey in the US Army, manufacturing, community, and family. While my perspective reflects these experiences, the leadership principles shared here are universal and transferable across industries.
In the Leaders Field Guide, you’ll find a curated collection of academic writings, key takeaways from influential works, lessons learned, personal reflections, and shared experiences. Efforts have been made to properly cite all sources, honoring the value they’ve brought to my journey.
This guide is not about “the one right way.” It is a resource to help you explore concepts, build new skills, and shape your unique leadership style. Leaders are as diverse as the people they lead, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to success.
Failure is a crucial part of growth. Some of the most impactful lessons I’ve learned come from my own failures and observing others. By embracing failure as an opportunity, we can grow stronger and wiser.
Throughout this guide, I will share challenges, setbacks, and the lessons they taught me. Personal stories are included with names changed to protect privacy, and when necessary, trigger warnings will be provided to ensure sensitivity to diverse experiences.
Leadership is hard, but the journey is rewarding. I hope this guide serves as a source of inspiration, learning, and practical insight as you continue to grow. Remember, in a world full of managers, be a leader.
